Course Drop Policy

A student who has made a maximum of four attempts and has not successfully passed the subject may be subject to drop out from the program. However, the student has the opportunity to either enrol in a different program or reapply to the same program during the next admission cycle as a fresh admission.

Semester Freezing Policy

• If a student freezes a semester, they can resume their studies from where they left off.
• Freezing is only allowed before the semester begins and before enrollment is completed.
• The maximum duration to complete the degree program remains unchanged.

Non-Enrollment in a Semester

• If a student does not enroll in any courses during a specific semester, they are not considered a regular student of the institute for that period.
• They can enroll in courses during a subsequent semester.
• Prerequisites for any desired course must be met.
• Note that the institute is not required to offer all courses in every semester.

Semester Freezing in Special Hardship Cases

• In special hardship cases, a student may be allowed to freeze a semester with prior permission from the vice chancellor.
• A medical certificate must be provided, duly signed by the University medical board, to support the request.
• The duration of freezing should not exceed one year.
• A candidate who has had a semester frozen can seek re-admission in the following year's upcoming session.
• However, the consideration of hardship cases is subject to approval by the competent authority.

Freezing of First Semester under Special Hardship Circumstances

• In specific instances of hardship, the freezing of the first semester can be considered.
• Approval for this must come from the competent authority, which may include cases like iddat, maternity/delivery, a death in the immediate family, or other situations deemed justified and acceptable.
• Note: Semester Freezing can only be considered once a student has successfully completed the first year of their study program.

Policy for repeating courses / improvement of CGPA

• If a student gets an F grade, they have to either retake the same course or, if there's another course recommended, they can take that. But F grade obtained earlier will be recorded on their transcript.
• Students who achieve a CGPA of less than 1.70 in the two previous semesters will not be eligible for promotion to the next semester or academic year. However, such students may have the opportunity to participate in either the retake examination or the regular examination for the specific course in which they are experiencing difficulties. This allows them to aim to pass the course and enhance their GPA.
• In case of CGPA improvement, it would be recorded on the transcript.

Extension In Period Study Of Bachelors Program

If a valid justification exists, the duration of your academic program can be prolonged by one year according to the semester freezing policy. In such a situation, you will be obligated to cover both the regular academic fees for that year and new registration fees.

Policy On Failed Course

If a student gets an “F” grade, they have to either retake the same course or opt for another course as recommended. However, an “F” grade obtained earlier will be recorded on their transcript.

Refund Policy

The refund policy of NIPARS is in accordance with HEC, which is as follows:

Refund Policy for Year Back

Those who have failed four times and have become year back, can only get the refund of new semester fee, if paid within the first 10 days of new semester. The college will not refund after the given timeline.

Attendance Policy

• Class attendance is compulsory in a semester-based system.
• The institute enforces a policy laid down by the university mandating a minimum 75% attendance rate for course completion.
• Instructors can report a student’s absences to the Head of the Department (HOD).
• Students may be notified by their HOD if they don’t meet attendance requirements, limited to once per semester.
• Insufficient attendance can lead to exclusion from mid-term or final exams, counting as an exam attempt.
